After five winners in round one of Lindsay's big Christmas giveaway last week, it's time to announce the super prize winner of a free, three-month gold level Horsetorque subscription.
The lucky VIP punter winner of the super prize in Lindsay's big Christmas giveaway is Glenn Connor of Tarragindi. Congratulations Glenn. We'll be in touch during the next week to organise your Horsetorque subscription for you.
Not much joy with our Whisper selections last week. Thank heavens for Lindsay's lays! But then again, racing cannot be about winning all of the time. As long as we win more often than we lose is what counts to finish ahead. And with a profit on turnover of just under 40% for our headline specials, we're travelling OK in that department.
We found it hard to find a good thing in Brisbane tomorrow, apart from recent headline special Humma, so we're sticking with him to win again in the first race after his demolition job last start.
He's impossible to go past, considering he's one from one over the track and distance and carries the same weight as his last start win.
In Sydney, we're hoping that bookies will take a risk with Bank Robber because of the 61kg. Let's hope they do, because when you consider he finished 0.8 lengths behind Apache Cat and 1.0 length behind All Silent (carrying 58.5kg both times) at his last two starts, then 61kg doesn't sound unreasonable.
Throw in that his only defeat in four starts at Randwick was his second in Theseo's Epsom, then we might well have something to bet on tomorrow.
Our headline specials for this week are Humma (race 1 Doomben),Bank Robber (race 7 Randwick) and Red Flair (race 8 Flemington.
The Whisper will now be taking its annual one-month recess and will resume publication at the end of January.

Lindsay's Lay of the Day
They came for both of his lays (Latin News and Vitex) in the ring last week, but as has happened for four weeks in a row now, over they both went.
This week's lays are:
Randwick race 6: Rabbuka
Flemington race 6: Syndrome

A Christmas pot of gold from Gavin!
Horsetorque's Gavin Haynes has been racing without much luck the last month or so but long term followers know that he's too good a judge to keep down for long. So we'd better warn you that Gavin is super keen about this week's VIP tip sending his followers into Christmas with a little something exta in their wallet.
RAINBOW STYLING (Randwick race 4) has long been one of mine and he looks very well placed here.
His condition just gave out last start when he jumped up to 2000 metres second up; he's fitter here, well-graded and significantly has won at his past two, third-up runs.
The awkward gate should pose no problems as there is very little natural speed in the race and he should get a cosy trail one-out and one-back in a race devoid of speed.
He is from the astute Hawkes yard and the claim for the handy apprentice Tim Bell gets him in super with only 4.5kg over the limit.
He just looks the winner, for mine.

Some Christmas cheer for my amigos!
The Mug Punter has searched long and hard for some three state, over the odds value and reckons that the aptly named Red Amigo might provide a thrill at big double-figure odds at Doomben tomorrow.
Even though he finished a battling sixth at Eagle Farm last start, the Mug reckons that there was a lot more merit to the run than may have first met the eye.
Facing a rise in class last start, Red Amigo was hunted to the front to lead at a mad pace before wilting to finish 2.5 length behind Currumbin Rock over 1600 metres at Eagle Farm on 28 November.
He'd run places or won at his six previous starts, several with big weights. He's down in class tomorrow and with just 53kg on his back and more patient tactics, he just might give a sight at big double-figure odds.
Incidentally, while in Brisbane, the Mug points out that for anyone wanting to step around likely hottie Chakvetadze in the last that first-upper Azzaland has an incredible fresh record of three from three first-up and three from three second-up.
In Sydney, the Mug will be having something on Ipswich Cup winner Our Lukas in the Villiers.
Queensland horses have travelled south and raced well in the Villiers in recent years and the Mug reckons that Our Lukas is quite possibly the pick of anything that has ventured south.
His win two starts back when he led all the way at his third run from a spell over a mile at Eagle Farm was huge and you can forget all about his unplaced last run when his saddle slipped.
The Mug's hoping it'll be another case in the betting ring tomorrow where our southern cousins underestimate the poor ol' hayseeds from north of the border.
The Mug's going for what he hopes will be another lightly-raced improver with his Melbourne value chance Coppervue tomorrow.
With four wins and four placings from just twelve starts, the Mug has been impressed with this horse's two nice runs this time in where he came home well for a four length sixth to No Jurisdiction over 1400 metres at Sandown first-up, followed by a 2.8 length third over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley behind Good Medicine.
With two wins and a placing from four mile starts, a big weight drop and a gun run in tomorrow's race, the Mug reckons there's some good double-figure value here.
