THE MONDAY REPORT
The Eagle Farm Betting Report - Saturday 21 November
Race 1 – Fifteen Carat $3.30 Fantastic Blue $4.60 and Bella Sirena $13.00
The opening race was won by a very promising stayer in the making, namely Fifteen Carat. He did a good job to run down Fantastic Blue,
who has also got a promising future, but the winner Fifteen Carat was by far the best backed runner in the race. There was good money for
him on the phones and also in the ring from the general public.
Sanderson was specked in the ring at around $6 and $7 quotes and Sarge In Charge was also specked at $6, but we started the day on
a losing note.
Race 2– Reflection Of Jade $4.20, Wandering Star $4.60 and Raise Up $17.00
Reflection Of Jade won this race, but there was no big money for any runner in the race as punters preferred to stand back and watch due to
the number of first starters.
There was money for Catalan Miss late in betting at $7.50 and whilst there was specking around the ring for the winner, there was no significant
move for her.
Race 3 – Gag Order $3.70, Agnes Dream $9.00 and Steel Lips $8.00
This winner Gag Order was very well backed. The first bet I laid on the race was $5,000 on her at $3.80 and there was consistent money right
throughout betting for her.
There was no money for Agnes Dream nor Steel Lips, but I thought Steel Lips run was good and he’s probably ready to be backed next start,
as this was only his second run back from a spell.
Ice Tee was backed from $9 into $7.50 and there was a good move on course for him. Silvern was also specked from $10 into $7.50.
So we could only lay three horses in the race, but the best backed runner Gag Order won easily, so it was a bad result.
Race 4– Beartracker $5.00, Fort‘n’Won $26.00 and Body Double $12.00
We saw the same usual suspects going around here in a distance race in Brisbane.
The winner Beartracker was always $5/$5.50 throughout betting, and met with consistent support from the general public.
I laid the runner-up Fort‘n’Won to lose $10,000 in one bet at the big odds, so that punter got a good sight for his money and
the horse might be able to pick up one of these middle distance races in Brisbane now that he has found form.
The worst result in my book was Baha who had won the Gatton Cup just seven days earlier. I laid a $10,000 bet on him at $6.50.
Onalar was specked at $8.50 and there was money around the ring also for Drumshanbo and Emerald Hill, so they backed quite a few in the
race and it was a race that as a bookmaker you could have won or lost on.
Race 5 – Jasminka $2.60, Currumbin Rock $41.00 and Seesawing $5.50
This winner Jasminka was very well backed and was a very bad result for all bookmakers. The phones rang hot during betting from interstate
for her. The biggest single bet I laid on her was $10,000 - so it was a nasty result when she got home narrowly.
Seesawing was specked during betting and Charter Boat was backed at $8, whilst Athenas Gift and Aquaterra both had admirers, but the support
for those four runners was minimal when compared to that for Jasminka.
Race 6 – Drenalin $4.60, Decibella $7.50 and Poor Judge $12.00
This race turned into another ordinary result for bookmakers when the best backed runner Drenalin won after being backed from $5 into $4.60 late in
betting.
Bretonneux was unlayable, as was Easy Silence, but The Crusader was well backed at $10 and firmed into $8.50, but you could only lay two runners
for any money, Drenalin and The Crusader.
Race 7 – Black Prince $10.00, Eire Of Magic $13.00 and Bold Glance $21.00
This race finished up a good betting race and I laid a large bet on Ghetto Blaster at $5 before he ran close up in fourth place.
I laid The Jackal well, with the biggest single bet being $1,500 on the galloper at $9.50. Youthful Jack was just backed off the map and the phones
rang hot for him throughout betting. The largest single bet I laid on him was $10,000.
Bookmakers were glad to see Black Prince arrive to give us a good result, which was much needed, on an afternoon that was looking very ordinary up
to this point.
Race 8 –My Limit $8.00, Tabulate $21.00 and Pay Me $18.00
The last finished up a fairly good betting race.
There was good money around the ring for Intertheblack at $3.40 and you could basically get as much as you wanted out of the
horse on the phones at that price.
Manic Monday and Foolish were both well backed and both runners took out $20,000 in a single bet.
Sneaky Long was well backed at $5.50.
Fortunately I escaped laying the winner My Limit, so I was happy to walk out the front gate after the last winning something small, as that possibility
looked forlorn coming into the seventh race.
Lindsay will be fielding this week at Eagle Farm on Wednesday, Ipswich on Thursday back to Eagle Farm on Saturday and the Sunshine Coast
on Sunday.
