Soulima the Black Friday tip!
It might be Black Friday but we reckon the good spirits will be with us tomorrow when Brisbane headline special Soulima goes around in the fifth at Eagle Farm.
This boy has really hit his straps this time in, winning at Lismore and the Sunshine Coast at his first two runs before an excellent run at Doomben on 24 October when he worked forward from a wide alley to hold on strongly for a half-length fourth behind Blackwood's Choice and Another Takeover.
His go forward racing style will be suited by the rails draw tomorrow where we're confident he'll enjoy much more luck in transit than last week's Brisbane special.
No winners from our three headline specials last week in what must have been just about a first for these highly consistent selections. Let's look to bounce back strongly this week.
Our interstate headline specials for this week are Shadow Assassin (race 3 Rosehill) and Scenic Shot (race 7 Sandown).
Super Spring Second Chance
Each week, we'll nominate a Brisbane race where for all win bets up to $100, if your horse runs second, Lindsay will give you a free win bet of the same value in the last Brisbane race.
For tomorrow's racing, you will earn your free bet if your horse runs second in Brisbane race 5 (for win bets up to $100).
If you're at the track, keep your losing ticket and present it when you have your free win bet to the same value in Brisbane race 8. Phone bettors just need to ring in and identify yourself to receive your free bet in race 8. Good luck to those second-place getters in race 5 tomorrow. Let's hope you can go one better with Lindsay's money in race 8!
Lindsay's Lay of the Day
Two more bold lays last week, Apache Cat and So You Think and the master managed to get them both bowled over.
He's not resting on his laurels this week either and is in it up to his neck with tomorrow's lays.
Lindsay's Lays
Sandown race 5: Lucky Secret
Sandown race 7: Purple

Alesprit the go in Brisbane!
Horsetorque's Gavin Haynes is off on a rare Brisbane visit this week in search of a good thing for his exclusive VIP Club selection.
ALESPRIT (Eagle Farm race 4) is a speed machine who broke the Rockhampton track record three starts back rating 103.
She resumed recently with a scintillating win over 900 metres at the Gold Coast winning by panels in very, very slick time rating an amazing 113.
She's drawn safely in the middle of the line tomorrow and she may just prove too fast for these with only 54kg on her back.
She'll be winning again tomorrow, for mine.

Another 2nd-up reversal for the Queen?
In his quest to suss out some value for Whisper readers, the Mug relies heavily on history to provide clues to future performance. And he's had a little bit of the $31 available this morning about a mare with some intersting stats in the last at Sandown tomorrow.
The mare in question is Causeway Queen who on the surface doesn't look an exciting proposition at her second run from a break following her 5.6 length thirteenth of sixteen when resuming at Geelong recently.
However, looking deeper the Mug notes Causeway Queen has an unbeaten second-up record, with a three from three scoreline in that department.
He then notes that second-up last preparation, she scored after finishing fifteen lengths last at her first-up run; now that's a decent reversal!
Throw in that she's won her only previous start at Sandown and the Mug is feeling comfortable with his eachway speculation on this mare.
He thinks he can still remember, but the Mug's misspent youth during the 70s leaves him with a leaning to Happy Hippy at Sandown tomorrow.
This lightly-raced filly indicated she possesses above-average ability at her second run this time in when she finished a half-length second to Love Conquers All in the listed Crowley. She wasn't disgraced next start when she made up ground down the straight on Oaks day behind Trim.
From her good draw, tomorrow, the Mug can see her getting the run of the race and reckons she's great eachway value at her current double-figure quote.
The Mug is also chasing the double-figure value currently being offered about Turf Express in the Sandown Guineas tomorrow.
Consensus seems to be that the Waterhouse-trained colt was a little lucky to get it on protest last start and the Mug reckons the horse's current liberal quote is an over-reaction to this sentiment.
It was a strong effort with the 57kg last run and with a weight drop in tomorrow's stronger event, the Mug is happy with his early eachway shopping on this horse at double figures.
The Mug notes that two of his recent beaten selections, News Alert and Walking or Dancing are in again tomorrow.
With Lucky Secret a query over 1300 metres in race 5 carrying 59kg, the Mug has backed News Alert at around an eachway quote.
In race 8, Walking or Dancing is suited by the drop back in class and distance.
